MARA FABBRO

MARA FABBRO
ONLINE EXHIBITION

THE KEEPER OF MATTER
1th OCTOBER – 6th NOVEMBER 2022

CASTELLO DEL MONFERRATO, CASALE MONFERRATO (AL)

Experimental pasty materials made with extreme care and attention have always characterized Mara Fabbro’s research.
Resins, plasters, sands with different textures and colors, synthetic and natural glues are skillfully amalgamated by the artist, according to personal recipes and proportions, in some ways secret. These special ingredients enable the artist to apply particular textures on different surfaces; they guarantee tightness and preservation of texture and colors on transparent polycarbonates or light woods, on porous boards or on plastics.

Mara Fabbro carefully guards the creation of her durable and malleable materials, which she uses to express an existential feeling that is perfectly situated in the contemporary. Mara Fabbro works with what is produced and used in the industrial and artistic present, because she feels it is necessary to situate her research within the now, with all its urgencies, crises, opportunities and qualities, problems and interests.

MARA FABBRO

Mara Fabbro was born in Castello d’Aviano in Friuli-Venezia Giulia, where she currently lives and works. After graduating from the Istituto Magistrale di Sacile (PN), she began her work while always keeping her passion for painting alive. He has studied and worked as a self-taught artist for many years, experimenting with her own technique that would express the sense for painting, making a sandy mixture that he spreads and works with his hands, palette knives and other tools, later intervening with pigment, coloring it.
The choice of this material is determined by the desire to create a “living” work with a strong communicative impact that, coming out of the canvas, goes to meet the viewer. The inspiration and motivation for his work come from the observation

of the habitat in which the human being, he wants to investigate the relationship and bond between man and nature, now almost inseparable and becoming even more complex, requires responsible choices and attention and global involvements. Mara has held solo exhibitions and participated in group shows all over the world, both for public and private institutions: Mantua, London, Venice, Sacile (PN), Miami, Trento, Conegliano (TV), Tannay-Geneva, Montreux, Lugano, Lausanne, Palermo, New York, and has participated, with his own works, in the initiatives of “Art for Children & Mothers”
